Peebles & Wayte is a family-run opticians located on Robert Street in Scunthorpe.
As a patient at Peebles & Wayte the health of your eyes and quality of your vision is our first concern. It is our aim at all times to provide you with an excellent service. The raison d'etre of our administration team is to look after you and make your time with us a totally rewarding experience.
We offer all our patients a 30 minute appointment to carry out a thorough eye examination and discuss any eye care concerns you may have. We pride ourselves in providing a personal and professional one-to-one service to each of our patients. On entering the practice you will be greeted by our friendly receptionists and then taken into the care of one of our Optometrists, Mr G Wayte or Miss F S Wayte, who will perform your full eye examination and take you through the dispensing process, should spectacles be required.
Our stock of frames is extensive and we try to keep a range to suit all pockets.
We are happy to accept National Health Service Vouchers in part payment.All patients receive a full sight test and we are happy to see patients of all ages. Our current patients range in age from 2 years old to patients in their 90's. Whatever your age or situation we know that yours eyes are unique. During the examination we will strive to find appropriate and comfortable answers to your own eyes' special demands and needs.
Many patients are eligible for the National Health Service test. However in addition to this, we do offer other services but if these are required they are charged for privately.

Mr G Wayte has extensive experience in Optometry, having been registered with The General Optical Council since 1971. Having kept up-to-date with his qualifications, Mr Wayte has City University Certificates of Achievements in Diabetes Mellitus (1997), Glaucoma Shared Care (1998), Anterior Segment Eye Disease (1999), Cataract Referral & Management (2002), Ageing Eye (2004). He is also registered on the Therapeutics Specialist Registers as he holds the Diplomas in Therapeutics in Independent Prescribing, Advanced Supply and Supplementary Prescribing, of The College of Optometry.

Miss F S Wayte was delighted to join her father in his well-established independent practice. She graduated with an honours degree in Optometry from Bradford University in July 2006. Following this she completed her pre-registration year in Grimsby and, having obtained the full professional qualifications in 2007, registered with the General Optical Council in October 2007. She gained a great deal of experience working in practices in Grimsby and Cleethorpes before deciding to join her father in independent practice in Scunthorpe in January 2013.
